Marske-by-the-Sea is a coastal village in the borough of Redcar and Cleveland, in the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. Perched between Redcar and Saltburn, it has a long promenade, cliffs and beaches with open views across the North Sea, making it popular for coastal walks and family days out.
Once a small fishing settlement that expanded in the 19th century, Marske today is largely residential with Victorian terraces, local shops and leisure facilities including a golf course and coastal paths. A railway station on the local line gives straightforward links to Middlesbrough and Saltburn, so many residents commute into nearby Teesside while retaining a village-by-the-sea character.
