New Marske is a village in the borough of Redcar and Cleveland in England, set just inland from the North Sea near Marske-by-the-Sea and between Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Redcar. It grew up in the 19th century as housing for ironstone and mining workers, so the area still carries that industrial heritage alongside rows of later suburban housing; the village sits pleasantly between coastal paths and rolling moorland, making it handy for walks to the shore and countryside alike.
Today New Marske is largely residential, with many people commuting into Teesside while local life centres on small shops, schools and community groups. Good transport links from nearby Marske-by-the-Sea and the surrounding road network keep it connected, and the mix of historic roots and green spaces gives the place a quiet, community-minded feel.
