Cottesmore is a village and civil parish in the county of Rutland, England, set in a predominantly agricultural landscape. The settlement is compact with a long local history and a strong community feel; its character was shaped in the 20th century by the nearby airfield, RAF Cottesmore, which introduced military and aviation links to the area and has since been redeveloped as Kendrew Barracks.
Locally notable traditions include the name-giving Cottesmore Hunt, and the village has the sort of medieval church and vernacular buildings typical of Rutland. Its proximity to attractions such as Rutland Water and the market town of Oakham makes it convenient for walkers and commuters while retaining a quiet, rural atmosphere.
