Little Hulton is a predominantly residential suburb in the City of Salford, within Greater Manchester in north‑west England, sitting between the urban centres of Manchester and Wigan. The area is characterised by 20th‑century council housing and pockets of green space, with decent road and bus links into the neighbouring towns and city centre, making it a commuter area with a strong local identity.
Historically Little Hulton grew up around coal mining and associated industries and the landscape still hints at that past, although much of the old industrial infrastructure has gone and been replaced by housing and regeneration projects. The community retains a working‑class culture, active local voluntary groups and sports clubs, and ongoing investment has focused on improving amenities, schools and parks to address social and economic challenges while celebrating the area’s heritage.
