Norton sub Hamdon is a small village and parish in Somerset, England, sitting on the northern slopes of Ham Hill Country Park and a few miles west of Yeovil. The landscape is dominated by the pink-gold hamstone quarried from the hill, an Iron Age hillfort and country-park that give the area dramatic views across the Somerset Levels and Dorset countryside.
The village has a distinctly historic feel, with many hamstone cottages and a medieval parish church at its heart, and is a designated conservation area. Economically it remains largely rural with farming alongside small local businesses and commuters to nearby towns, while socially it retains a strong community spirit with local events and clubs that draw on the village’s architectural and natural heritage.
