Martock is a large village and parish in rural Somerset, England, set on rolling farmland and a wooded valley through which the River Yeo runs. The centre retains a compact market square and many attractive hamstone buildings, giving it a distinctly historic character within a recognised conservation area.
Historically the village grew on wool and cloth trades with mills on the river, and landmarks such as St Andrew's Church reflect that medieval heritage. Today Martock mixes agriculture, small local businesses and commuters who travel to nearby Yeovil and beyond via the A303; nearby attractions like East Lambrook Manor Gardens add to its cultural appeal and a lively parish atmosphere.
