Ruishton is a small village and civil parish in Somerset, England, set just to the east of Taunton on gently rolling farmland in the Taunton Vale. The settlement lies close to the M5 and other main roads, with the river and field pattern of the Tone valley shaping the local landscape and giving easy access to larger towns while retaining a rural feel.
The area has medieval roots and several historic buildings, including the old manor house and the parish church, and the community is centred on a village hall, church and local amenities. Economically it combines agriculture with a significant number of commuters working in nearby Taunton and along the motorway corridor, plus a handful of small business parks and light industry close to the village; local clubs and events sustain an active village life.
