Creech St. Michael is a village in Somerset, a few miles east of Taunton, sitting on the southern edge of the Somerset Levels. The village lies close to the course of the River Tone and the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal, and its proximity to the M5 gives it a convenient commuter link while it still feels distinctly rural amid drained wetlands and surrounding farmland.
Historically the community grew around its waterways and agricultural trade, and you can still see that heritage in the old parish church and the canal-side walks that draw wildlife and local walkers. Today the local economy is a mix of farming, small businesses and residents who commute to nearby towns, with a lively village life centred on the school, hall and local amenities that reflect a blend of rural tradition and suburban living.
