Monkton Heathfield is a village and growing suburb just east of Taunton in Somerset, England. It sits on the edge of the low-lying Somerset Levels with views towards the Quantock Hills, and is conveniently close to the M5, making it an easy commuter spot for the town and the wider region.
The "Monkton" element of the name hints at medieval monastic links, but until recent decades the area was largely farmland. It has since expanded with substantial housing developments, a trading estate and local shops, creating a mixed community of long‑standing residents and newcomers and shifting its character from rural parish to a modern suburban neighbourhood with schools, green spaces and light industry.
