Wellington Without is a small, mainly rural parish that skirts the western and southern edges of the market town of Wellington in Somerset. It is characterised by rolling farmland, hedgerows and occasional cider orchards, with good views towards the Blackdown Hills and the silhouetted Wellington Monument on the skyline.
The area has long-standing agricultural roots and historic farmsteads, while today many residents commute to nearby Taunton or run small local businesses. A close-knit community feel, a scattering of listed buildings and an extensive network of public footpaths make it popular with walkers and cyclists who enjoy easy access to the surrounding AONB countryside.
