Norton Canes is a village on the edge of Cannock Chase in Staffordshire, England. Historically a coal‑mining community, it grew through the 19th and 20th centuries and many former pit sites have been landscaped and absorbed into greenspace; nearby Chasewater Country Park with its reservoir and heritage railway is a popular local attraction, and the surrounding trails in the Chase are well used by walkers, cyclists and riders.
The village lies close to the M6 Toll, making it convenient for commuting to larger centres such as Birmingham, while small industrial estates and retail facilities provide local employment. A mix of post‑war and newer housing, active community groups and sports clubs give Norton Canes a strong local identity within the evolving post‑industrial landscape of the area.
