Blithfield is a small, rural parish in East Staffordshire, set in rolling Staffordshire countryside beside the valley of the River Blithe. It is dominated by the historic Blithfield Hall, the long-standing seat of the Bagot family, with a parish church and estate buildings that reflect medieval and later country-house layers of history.
In the mid-20th century the creation of Blithfield Reservoir transformed part of the parish into an important wetland, prized by birdwatchers, anglers and walkers and valued for its wildlife. The local economy remains largely agricultural and estate-based, with a quiet, dispersed community and occasional events and openings at the Hall drawing visitors from the surrounding Staffordshire area.
