Alstonefield is a small village and civil parish in Staffordshire Moorlands, Staffordshire, set on the banks of the River Dove at the southern edge of the Peak District. The parish is notable for its limestone dales, drystone-walled pastures and clusters of traditional stone cottages, which give a very distinct countryside character and make it popular with walkers and nature lovers.
Historically a farming community with medieval roots, the local economy still leans on agriculture alongside a steady flow of visitors drawn to the river valleys and footpaths around Dovedale. Social life centres on a village pub, the church and a village hall that host occasional fairs and community events, sustaining a close-knit, rural community feel.
