Manifold is a largely rural electoral ward in the district of Staffordshire Moorlands, in Staffordshire, England, lying on the western fringe of the limestone plateau that gives way to the White Peak of the Peak District. The landscape is shaped by the famous River Manifold and its valley, with steep sided dales, dry riverbeds in summer and scattered farmland and small hamlets, making it a visually striking part of the Moorlands.
Locally the economy and social life revolve around agriculture, outdoor recreation and tourism: walkers and cyclists use the old Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway route, now the popular Manifold Way, and small businesses cater for visitors to caves, historic packhorse routes and local pubs. The ward retains a strong sense of community in its village halls and parish activities, while its historic features and quiet lanes attract people seeking rural character rather than urban services.
