Wetton is a small village and civil parish in the Staffordshire Moorlands district of Staffordshire, on the western edge of the Peak District National Park in England. It sits in the steep, limestone-sided Manifold Valley beside the River Manifold, an area known for dramatic limestone scarps and caves; the well-known showcave of Thor's Cave looms above the valley and draws walkers and photographers.
Historically a farming community with medieval roots, the village retains stone cottages, a village church and traces of rural industry such as old mills and lime-burning; Wetton Mill is a local focal point where the river famously sinks in drier months. Today agriculture and tourism (walkers, cyclists using former railway routes, and holiday lets) shape the economy, while nearby market towns such as Leek provide services, leaving Wetton with a quiet, community-led character popular with visitors seeking classic Peak District scenery.
