Bagshot is a small village in the borough of Surrey Heath in Surrey, England, set on characteristic sandy heathland a short drive from London and close to the county borders with Berkshire and Hampshire. The surrounding Bagshot Heath gives the area a distinct open, pitted landscape and the name also features in geology - the local sandy deposits are known as the Bagshot Beds or Bagshot Formation.
Historically a coaching stop on routes out of London, the village retains a compact high street of shops and pubs and a mix of commuters and long-standing local families. Nearby Bagshot Park adds a royal and historic flavour, while the village’s transport links and leafy setting make it a popular, quietly prosperous place to live rather than a tourist centre.
