Frensham is a rural civil parish in the borough of Waverley in Surrey, England, set on rolling heathland and pinewoods of the Surrey Hills. Its two famous water bodies, Frensham Great Pond and Frensham Little Pond, date back to the Middle Ages and were created as fishponds for the bishops at Farnham Castle; today the ponds and surrounding Frensham Common are prized for walking, swimming and wildlife on protected heathland with heather, adders and heathland birds.
The parish is largely residential with a mix of cottages, farms and small businesses, and functions partly as a commuter area for Farnham and Guildford. Local life includes village clubs, outdoor recreation centred on the common and ponds, and education such as Frensham Heights School, giving the area a quietly prosperous, community-focused character with a strong sense of history.
