Hackbridge is a ward in the London Borough of Sutton, in south‑west London. It sits in the valley of the River Wandle, close to the Wandle Valley and neighbouring Beddington, and combines Victorian terraces and inter‑war/post‑war housing with a compact local centre; Hackbridge railway station provides regular services into central London.
Historically the river corridor supported mills and light industry, and in recent years the area has been notable for a focused regeneration and sustainability programme that has brought low‑carbon housing, improved riverside green space and space for small businesses, giving the ward a mix of community activity, accessible nature and an emerging local economy within the capital.
