Wasing

Wasing is a small, quietly rural parish in West Berkshire, largely centred on the privately owned Wasing Park estate. The area is characterised by rolling arable fields, belts of woodland and ornamental lakes around the country house, with much of its character shaped by the estate rather than a nucleated village; surviving historic buildings and parkland give it a distinctly country‑house feel.

Economically and socially the parish is estate‑led, with farming, forestry and occasional public events on the estate supplementing a very small resident population; day‑to‑day life and services are typically found in nearby settlements such as Aldermaston. Its quiet lanes, lakes and woodlands make it attractive for wildlife watching and low‑key recreation, and it remains one of the quieter corners of the Berkshire countryside.
