Urswick is a small, historic parish on the Furness peninsula in Westmorland and Furness, England, sitting close to Morecambe Bay between Ulverston and Barrow-in-Furness. It includes the twin settlements of Great Urswick and Little Urswick and is characterised by gently rolling farmland, coastal views and sightlines to the Lake District fells.
The area is notable for its long history - St Mary’s Church in Great Urswick contains early medieval carved stones and medieval fabric, and archaeological finds point to earlier occupation. Traditionally agricultural, the parish now combines farming with commuters to nearby towns and a modest flow of walkers and heritage visitors; community life remains active with local events and village institutions that keep the rural character intact.
