Low Furness is an electoral ward in Westmorland and Furness, sitting on the southern edge of Cumbria's Furness peninsula beside the tidal flats of Morecambe Bay. The landscape is largely rural - a patchwork of mixed farmland, lanes and small coastal settlements - with good birdlife, quiet walking country and broad views out towards the Irish Sea.
The community has a relaxed, village feel: agriculture and small-scale tourism are important locally, while many residents commute to industry and services in nearby Barrow-in-Furness. The area also carries historic echoes, from monastic remains around Furness Abbey to reminders of the peninsula’s maritime and industrial past.
