Burbage is a large village and civil parish in Wiltshire, sitting on the edge of the Marlborough Downs and within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a short distance from the market town of Marlborough. It has a recognisable historic core of stone cottages and a parish church alongside later 20th‑century housing and a small business/industrial area.
The local economy is still rooted in agriculture and small enterprises, with many residents commuting to nearby towns; village life centres on the primary school, village hall, a couple of pubs, sports clubs and annual fetes. The surrounding downland and quiet lanes make it popular with walkers and cyclists, and the parish’s long history is apparent in its buildings and field patterns.
