Netheravon is a compact village and parish in north‑east Wiltshire, set on the banks of the River Avon at the eastern edge of the chalk downland of Salisbury Plain. The setting gives sweeping downs views and good walking country, and the village retains a historic core with a medieval parish church and classic stone cottages that reflect its long rural past.
The village’s more recent character has been shaped by a nearby military airfield, established in the early 20th century and later known as RAF Netheravon, which has influenced local employment and events; beyond that the economy remains largely agricultural, with a small, active community maintaining village clubs, heritage interests and countryside pursuits.
