Ogbourne St. George is a compact village and civil parish in north Wiltshire, set in the shallow valley of the River Og a few miles north of Marlborough. The settlement sits beneath the chalk slopes of the Marlborough Downs and close to stretches of the ancient Ridgeway, so the landscape shows layers of history from prehistoric barrows on the downs down to the river valley below.
Traditionally agricultural, the parish still has working farms, attractive flint-and-brick cottages and a historic parish church, while many residents now commute to nearby centres such as Swindon and Marlborough. It retains a strong rural community feel with local events and country pursuits, and it draws walkers and visitors looking to explore the quieter side of rural Wiltshire.
