South Wraxall is a small rural parish in Wiltshire, a few miles north of Bradford on Avon and within easy reach of Bath. Set among rolling chalk downs and farmland, the area is notable for the timber-and-stone South Wraxall Manor, an Elizabethan manor house with long historic associations that shapes much of the parish’s character.
Today the parish remains largely agricultural with a small resident population, a scattering of historic houses and farms, and a quiet village atmosphere. Its mix of listed buildings, attractive walking country and proximity to larger towns brings a modest amount of heritage tourism while many residents commute to nearby centres for work, preserving a strong sense of local community.
