Stratford Toney is a tiny rural parish in Wiltshire, set in the chalk downland of the Wylye valley a few miles west of Salisbury Plain and close to villages such as Codford and Heytesbury. The rolling chalk hills and the nearby River Wylye give it a sense of remoteness and make it popular with walkers and birdwatchers; the area sits on the edge of the Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs AONB.
It remains a very small agricultural community of farms and stone cottages, centred on a historic parish church with medieval fabric and a past tied to the old manor system. Farming still shapes much of local life, while the quiet lanes, downland views and historic buildings appeal to people interested in rural history and conservation.
