Emmbrook is a largely residential suburb to the east of Wokingham in Berkshire, named for the Emm Brook that runs through the area and eventually feeds into the River Loddon. It grew from farmland into mainly mid-20th-century housing with a mix of older cottages and newer estates, and benefits from several local green spaces and a riverside recreation ground.
The area has primary and secondary schools, sports clubs and small parades of shops that give it a distinctly local, family-oriented feel, while many residents commute to nearby Reading, Bracknell or London. Community groups and a residents’ association are active in looking after parks and organising events, so the place combines suburban convenience with a strong neighbourhood character.
