Bearsden is a leafy suburban town in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland, sitting to the north‑west of Glasgow on the northern side of the River Kelvin. It grew as a prosperous commuter suburb in the Victorian and Edwardian eras, so you’ll find many villas and period terraces, a busy local hub at Bearsden Cross and easy access to green spaces such as Mugdock Country Park and the nearby Campsie Fells.
Despite its residential character, Bearsden has notable historic interest - the excavated bathhouse from the Roman fort sits on the line of the Antonine Wall - and a strong community life with good schools such as Bearsden Academy, active sports clubs and a range of independent shops and services. Economically it remains largely a commuter and family area with higher‑than‑average house prices and a reputation for quality of life.
