Lenzie is a pleasant suburban town in East Dunbartonshire, sitting roughly between Glasgow and Kirkintilloch. It grew up in the Victorian and Edwardian era as a railway commuter settlement and still retains a mix of period housing and green space; the nearby Lenzie Moss, a protected bog and nature reserve, is a notable local landmark popular with walkers and birdwatchers.
Today Lenzie is largely residential with a family-orientated feel, good primary and secondary schools such as Lenzie Academy, small shops and active community and sports clubs. Strong rail and road links into Glasgow mean many residents commute for work, while local services and leisure facilities keep the town socially lively.
