Dunbar is a historic coastal town in East Lothian, Scotland, set on dramatic cliffs and sandy bays facing the North Sea. It’s noted as the birthplace of naturalist John Muir and is popular for cliff-top walks, seabird watching and the long-running Belhaven Brewery; the harbour, castle ruins and nearby John Muir Country Park give it a strong mix of natural and historical interest, with tourism and small-scale fishing important locally.
East Linton is a picturesque agricultural village on the River Tyne with an attractive conservation-centre village core, an old mill and a recently reopened rail station that has strengthened commuting links to Edinburgh. Together the two communities sit within rural East Lothian, sharing active local societies, festivals and a countryside economy while also serving as gateways for visitors exploring the coast and Lowland Scotland.
