Anstruther is a compact fishing town on the south‑east coast of Fife in Scotland, sitting around a small working harbour on the Firth of Forth. It forms part of the picturesque East Neuk of Fife and has long maritime roots, traditionally split into the historic settlements of Anstruther Easter and Anstruther Wester.
These days the town mixes a still‑active fishing industry with tourism: it’s famous locally for its fish and chip shops, the Scottish Fisheries Museum and boat trips to the Isle of May to see puffins and seals. Narrow streets, galleries, cafés and seasonal events give it a lively social scene while the harbour and working boats keep a genuine maritime character.
