Baillieston is an outer-eastern ward of Glasgow City in Scotland, centred on the former village of Baillieston. It sits close to the junction of the M8 and M73 and has good rail connections at Baillieston railway station, making it a commuter-friendly suburb with a mix of Victorian streets and post‑war housing.
Historically the area grew up around coal, quarrying and the railways, so you still see traces of its industrial past alongside green spaces such as Baillieston Park. Today the ward combines residential neighbourhoods, small industrial estates and active community groups; local regeneration and housing projects sit alongside long‑standing churches and community centres, giving it a strong neighbourhood identity within the wider city.
