Springburn/Robroyston

The ward centred on Springburn and Robroyston sits in north Glasgow, Scotland. Historically Springburn was a major centre of locomotive manufacture, home to large works such as the North British Locomotive Company, and that industrial past is still visible in the built environment and local identity; the area also benefits from parks and green corridors, notably Springburn Park, that give it a mix of urban and semi‑rural character.

Today the neighbourhood combines older council housing with newer developments around Robroyston, and has seen investment in transport and amenities - including the reopening of Robroyston railway station and good access to the M80 - which supports commuting and regeneration.
