Munlochy is a small village on the eastern shore of the Black Isle, overlooking Munlochy Bay in the council area of Highland, Scotland. The bay is a tidal inlet with extensive saltmarsh and mudflats that attract waders and wildfowl, so the area is popular for coastal walks and birdwatching and offers broad views across the firths towards Inverness.
Historically a fishing and crofting community, Munlochy today combines agriculture and local services with a number of residents who commute to nearby towns. It retains a quiet, community-focused character, prized for its wildlife-rich shorelines, rural landscape and easy access to the cultural and visitor attractions of the Black Isle.
