Bannockburn is a suburb just to the south‑east of Stirling in central Scotland, lying beside the small stream the Bannock Burn and not far from the River Forth. It’s largely residential with pockets of light industry and local retail, well connected by road to Stirling and the central belt, and sits where suburban streets meet open farmland.
Its most famous feature is the 1314 Battle of Bannockburn, a defining moment in Scotland’s history led by Robert the Bruce, and the battlefield is marked by memorials, a visitor centre and walking routes that attract history visitors as well as locals. Today Bannockburn keeps a strong community feel with local clubs, groups and small businesses, while many residents commute into Stirling or further afield for work.
