Clackmannanshire West sits at the western edge of the compact county, rising from low farmland to the southern slopes of the Ochil Hills. The ward hugs a chain of Hillfoots communities and provides easy access to historic landmarks such as Castle Campbell and the county town of Alloa.
Once shaped by textile mills and coal, the area still shows its industrial heritage in stone buildings and old mill sites, but today many residents commute to nearby centres like Stirling and Glasgow while others make the most of local hillwalking, cycling and small-scale tourism supported by active community groups and seasonal events.
