Newbridge is an electoral ward and town in Caerphilly county borough, set in the characteristic ridged landscape of the South Wales Valleys. It developed around the coal and iron industries in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and while the pits have long gone much of that industrial legacy is still visible in street layouts, former worksites and local place names.
