Laugharne is a small, windswept tidal town on the estuary of the River Tâf in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Perched along mudflats and salt marshes, it’s dominated by the ruins of Laugharne Castle, with broad estuary views that attract birdwatchers and photographers; the harbour and narrow lanes give it a timeless, almost cinematic quality.
Despite its size the town has a strong cultural identity thanks to its association with Dylan Thomas - the Dylan Thomas Boathouse and the local watering hole, Brown's Hotel, draw literary pilgrims. The local economy leans on tourism, hospitality and small creative enterprises, and the community is known for festivals, arts events and a close-knit, village atmosphere.
