Llangynin is a small, rural community in Carmarthenshire, out on the rolling coastal plain west of St Clears and within easy sight of Carmarthen Bay. The landscape is a patchwork of pastures, hedgerows and narrow lanes that open out towards salt marshes and estuary habitat; the parish is centred on its old church dedicated to St Cynin, which reflects a long medieval heritage and lends the area a quietly historic feel.
Economically the locality is largely agricultural, with dairy and sheep farming still dominant, while many residents commute to nearby towns such as Carmarthen for work and services. Socially it remains a close-knit, Welsh-speaking community with occasional local events and a strong sense of place, attractive to walkers and anyone interested in coastal birdlife and rural heritage.
