Rhyl is a busy seaside town on the north coast of Denbighshire in Wales, sitting beside the Irish Sea at the mouth of the River Clwyd. It has long sandy beaches, a traditional promenade and a history as a Victorian resort, and still attracts families and day-trippers for its coastal walks, amusements and occasional events.
Like many British seaside towns, Rhyl experienced economic decline in the late 20th century but has seen steady regeneration efforts in recent years, with waterfront and community projects, new housing and leisure investments. The town combines a tourist economy with a diverse residential community, and remains an important local centre for shopping and services along the North Wales coast.
