Minera is a small village and community in Wrexham County Borough in north-east Wales, lying a few miles west of Wrexham on the lower slopes of the surrounding uplands. The locality is notable for its industrial landscape: the 18th–19th century workings of Minera Lead Mines left spoil heaps, ruined engine houses and reservoirs that are now conserved within Minera Country Park, making it a popular spot for walks and industrial archaeology.
Once driven by the fortunes of mining, Minera today is largely a rural and commuter community with farming, a village church and active local life, while visitors come for the heritage, wildlife and panoramic views across the surrounding hills; its closeness to Wrexham also gives residents easy access to town services and employment.
