Gwynfryn is a small village in the county borough of Wrexham in north-east Wales, set on higher ground a few miles from Wrexham town centre. The name, meaning "white hill" in Welsh, reflects its slightly elevated, rural setting with views across farmland and towards the Dee Valley.
Traditionally an agricultural hamlet, Gwynfryn also has historic connections to the 19th-century mining and quarrying activity in nearby places such as Minera and Brymbo. Today it is largely residential and quietly community‑minded, popular with commuters to Wrexham and walkers exploring the Clwydian Range, while retaining a mixture of long‑standing local families and newer residents.
