Hallatrow is a small village in Bath and North East Somerset, set in gently rolling countryside on the northern edge of the Mendip Hills and close to the larger settlements of Midsomer Norton and Radstock. Its position gives it a rural character while still being within easy commuting distance of Bath and Bristol, so you get a mix of long-standing local families and newer residents moving out from the cities.
Historically the village grew as part of the Somerset Coalfield in the 19th century, and traces of that industrial past mingle with traditional stone cottages and agricultural land. Today the local economy is a blend of small-scale farming, local services and commuters, and the community maintains village facilities and footpaths that make it popular for countryside walks and local events.
