Midsomer Norton North is the northern ward of the former mining town of Midsomer Norton, within the unitary authority of Bath and North East Somerset in south-west England. The ward occupies part of the valley carved by the River Somer, with the higher slopes of the Mendip Hills visible nearby, and sits in the heart of the old Somerset Coalfield between Radstock and Bath.
Historically a working-class area shaped by coal and small-scale industry, the ward has seen steady regeneration and now combines local shops, schools and green spaces with a commuter population travelling to Bath and Bristol. Community life remains lively, with local events and heritage projects reflecting the mining past, and good walking and cycling links to surrounding towns and countryside.
