Timsbury sits in the district of Bath and North East Somerset in England, a compact stone-built village in the shallow valley of the River Somer a few miles west of Bath and close to Radstock and Midsomer Norton. Its semi-rural setting, with hedgerow-lined lanes and nearby worked-out spoil heaps, gives a mix of countryside character while remaining within easy commuting reach of Bath and Bristol.
Historically part of the Somerset Coalfield, Timsbury grew during the 19th century around mining and related trades, and traces of that industrial past survive in former pit sites and converted buildings. Today it combines local shops, a village school and pubs with active community groups and events, and attracts residents keen on local history, walking the surrounding lanes and countryside conservation.
