Radstock is a former coal‑mining town in the unitary authority of Bath and North East Somerset, England. It sits in the valley of the River Somer on the northern edge of the Mendip Hills, a few miles south‑west of Bath, and has the compact, village‑town feel of many old Somerset industrial settlements.
Historically the centre of the Somerset coalfield, Radstock expanded through the 18th and 19th centuries with pits, railways and related industries; much of that mining heritage is preserved in local buildings and the town museum. Since closure of the collieries it has become a mixed residential and commuter community with light industry, local shops and active community regeneration that has turned former industrial sites into green spaces and cultural attractions.
