Southwick sits on the coast in the district of Adur, West Sussex, England, tucked between Shoreham-by-Sea and Brighton at the mouth of the River Adur. The town has a shingle beach and promenade with saltmarshes and the maritime activity of Shoreham Harbour nearby, and is served by Southwick railway station on the West Coastway line.
Historically modest and with medieval roots, Southwick is best known for Southwick House, used as the Allied planning headquarters for the D‑Day landings in 1944. Today it’s a mix of Victorian and 20th‑century housing, local shops, watersports and community clubs (including Southwick FC), with an economy shaped by port‑related industry and commuters heading to Brighton and Worthing.
