Maryport South is the southern part of the coastal town of Maryport in the unitary authority of Cumberland, sitting on the western edge of the Solway Firth. The ward includes the harbour and seafront area and reflects the town’s strong maritime and Roman connections - the nearby Senhouse Roman Museum preserves altars and funerary stones from the Roman fort that once guarded the estuary.
