Copplestone is a small rural parish in Mid Devon, Devon, set in rolling farmland to the north‑west of Exeter. The village grew up around its railway stop on the line north from Exeter, and today remains a compact community prized for country walks, hedgerow scenery and easy rail links into the city and further into north Devon.
The parish is best known for the historic Copplestone stone cross, a prominent granite monolith that marks ancient boundaries and features in local lore. Economically it is largely agricultural with a mix of long‑standing local trades and commuters; socially the village centres on its church, village hall and pub, which host the bulk of community events and activities.
