Culmstock is a small rural village and civil parish in Mid Devon, Devon, England, set along the wooded valley of the River Culm. The settlement has a compact historic core with traditional stone and thatch buildings and the remains of former mill sites by the river, reflecting a past mix of small-scale textile and agricultural activity; it also sits close to the northern fringes of the Blackdown Hills AONB, so there are good walks and views over the surrounding countryside.
Today the community is typical of Devon villages, sustained by farming, local services and a lively village life centred on the hall and parish church, with occasional fetes and events; many residents commute to nearby towns while the lanes, footpaths and local history attract visitors interested in rural heritage and peaceful country scenery.
